Mark Taylor reports that:- The first Shropshire & Herefordshire County Golf Academy talent spotting event took place at The Shropshire Golf Centre on Saturday 24th April. This event was well attended with around 30 boys and girls, these assessment days were organised to help find new and up and coming talent from across our counties. The children were split into two groups morning and afternoon, their assessment involved a series of specific challenges including long game, short game and putting. The juniors were assessed by a team of six local PGA Academy coaches and PGA level 1 volunteers, during the two hour session each participant received coaching from the Academy team. The successful selected juniors will participate in the County Academy training programme where they will receive monthly coaching on all aspects of their game. "It was a fantastic day where the juniors had a great time and received some excellent coaching on all areas of the game. We were all very surprised at the high standards and are very much looking forward to developing these juniors through our Academy programme."
