More County Golf Partnerships (CGPs) are taking advantage of the free website development and management service provided by the England Golf Partnership (EGP).
Staffordshire, Shropshire & Herefordshire and Gloucestershire have now joined Suffolk, which became the first CGP to go live in June with the web facility that accommodates a county’s local needs but is automatically updated with a wealth of national golf news, information and resources to strengthen content.
EGP funding supports many initiatives at county level and this new service can enhance a CGP’s website communication on all things ‘county golf’. Each CGP is also able to draw on a national IT support structure for their website and have a consistent brand presence which links more closely with the work of the EGP partners.
So far, 23 of the 32 CGPs are working towards launching the new website and other counties will be completing their updates over the coming weeks to join Suffolk www.suffolkgolfpartnership.co.uk, Staffordshire www.staffsgolfpartnership.com, Shropshire & Herefordshire www.shropshireherefordshiregolfpartnership.co.uk and Gloucestershire www.gloucestershiregolfpartnership.org.
Richard Flint, Golf Development Manager for the EGU/EWGA, said: “The CGPs have welcomed this innovation which the England Golf Partnership believes will promote the game better at both county and national level, appealing to new players and helping support the EGP’s vision to ‘Grow the Game’.
“With this service county news can be championed, while the EGP can provide information on national initiatives that have a direct impact on all who play the game, at every level of county golf. The EGP’s ability to offer IT support and a strong website design and editing package also gives added confidence for users and we are delighted with the positive feedback we are receiving as more counties go live.”
Thirty-two CGPs have been established and are now aligned with the EGP's vision to ‘Grow the Game’, creating a strong network working with the EGP partners – the PGA, English Golf Union, English Women’s Golf Association and supported by the Golf Foundation and Sport England – for the benefit of both new and existing players at county level.
The website project is part of the England Golf Partnership’s ‘Whole Sport Plan’ for golf and is an integral part of the England Golf Partnership’s vision to ‘Grow the Game’.
